Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist who currently competing at the UFC flyweight division. She is older than her fellow UFC Fighter and the former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career started as a Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and then defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina was awarded a medal of silver in 2007, and a medal of bronze in 2008, and she won a gold medal in 2011. In addition, she was named IFMA Amateur World Muaythai Champions in 2016. Antonia's professional journey began in 2003. She won in 2012 the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 she took home the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. She took the win via second-round TKO and then won the next two bouts at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003, accumulating a record of 3-0. Shevchenko had a brief break from MMA and devoted her time to boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback at the end of 2017 in a fight with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui by a unanimous decision. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by an unanimous vote. The promotion ended in 2018, and enrolled into Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's improved strike technique permitted her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended after this win. Antonina made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi with a split decision fight. She won the initial fight by unanimous decision. Antonina bounced back from the defeat and beat Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke. She was also awarded the fight of the evening bonus for the fight. Shevchenko went 1-2 during her subsequent three bouts, beating Ariane Lipski, and then losing to Katlyn Chookagian, and Andrea Lee.
